At the corner of Powell &amp; Geary, he was perched up against the street light with a sign and cup. I asked him if he heard of the $2 Portrait project and he said it sounded familiar. After my explaining it, he agreed to participate. “Hmmm…my story….I don’t know where to start”, he said. After a short conversation, I learned that Jonathan is 42 or 43 years old (he couldn’t remember for sure) and was born and raised in San Francisco. He lives on the street and after pointing to a rolling office chair all loaded up with corrugated cardboard, he chuckled and said that was his mobile home.<br><br>Jonathan is a musician and trying to collect enough money to get his instruments out of hock so he can play on the street. He claims to play strings and wind instruments proficiently, which he learned on his own. Jonathan used to play in several bands and he claims they kicked him out because he was too good; even better than the other members at their own instruments. After asking me if I got some good photos, I gave him $2 and told him I wanted to hear him play some day.<br><br>Taken 3/6/14
