I was standing on the corner shooting across towards Union Square when she approached and asked if I would help her get something to eat. She was wearing a badge of some sort around her neck which I thought might be some type of not-for-profit group identification. It turns out it was her California drivers license which she wears all the time since she was once hit by a car and didn&#39;t have any identification on her. She had a sad tone in her voice and when I asked her name and told her about the $2 Portrait project, she allowed me to take her picture. Donna is from Marin but now lives in San Francisco. She is 45 years old and is currently unemployed. When I asked her how she lost her job, her eyes filled with tears and said it was a long story. My questions seemed painful for her so rather than continue, I gave her a few dollars for something to eat.<br><br>I had not experienced that tearful reaction before when shooting $2 Portraits; it was very sad indeed.<br><br>Taken 7/21/11<br>Posted 7/22/11 for Daily Shoot #614: &quot;Lose the rectangle today.
